Who deserves the 2026 JBF Award? Nominate someone!
The JBF Award originated from the ideas of John Blankenstein. John dedicated himself to a sports world where everyone feels the freedom to be themselves. He was truly a figurehead in this.
JBF Awards 2026
The JBF Award recognises individuals and organisations that contribute to a more inclusive and accessible sporting world for the LGBTQA+ community. With this award, we celebrate the many great initiatives on this theme and want to highlight the nominated individuals and organisations.
Who can you nominate?
Every individual and organisation that has made an inspiring contribution to improving inclusivity and accessibility for LGBTIQA+ people in the world of sport:
- An individual or an organisation
- Voluntary or paid
- Commercial or non-profit
- Known or unknown
The jury focuses primarily on impact: has the nominated individual or organisation set something in motion or brought about structural change? What was the role of the nominated individual or organisation in this process? In addition, the jury considers the extent of the impact and what makes the approach so special.
