Workshop: “Sport for everyone. Diversity in our club”
For over 16 years, the John Blankenstein Foundation has been organising workshops in the sports sector to raise awareness among athletes and those around them of how to prevent injuries in sport.
are working towards an inclusive environment for LGBTI+ people. This is a topic that is fortunately being discussed more and more at sports clubs.
The workshop is an interactive meeting in which practical working methods are used to share experiences and gain a better understanding of sexual preference and mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion in sport. The focus is always on the experiences of an LGBTI+ (top) athlete.
The aim of the workshops is to provide participants with concrete tools that enable them to proactively recognise exclusion and discrimination and work towards inclusion. This allows everyone to contribute to a positive social norm and a safe(r) sporting environment within the club.
From our experience, we know that this contributes to inclusion in a broader sense, enjoyment of sport and, above all, performance on the pitch!
The workshops are offered to players and teams, trainers/coaches and other supervisors, administrators and parents of athletes, among others.
