Yesterday was Purple Friday. In addition to many online guest lectures<\/a>, a promotion with shirts<\/a>, corner flags, captain's armbands<\/a> and a television studio<\/a> The study on support and acceptance for transgender people in sport was also published! The investigation<\/a>, conducted by the Mullier Institute on behalf of Alliantie Gelijkspelen 4.0, shows growth in many areas in terms of support and acceptance of transgender people within sports clubs.<\/p>\n

Gender-neutral toilets and changing rooms, among other things, are now accepted by almost 50% of athletes, compared to just over a quarter in 2017. An important conclusion in the study is that involving experts and ambassadors with personal experience in the design of an LGBTI+-friendly sports club is essential. This confirms that JBF is on the right track and will therefore continue this important work in the coming years!<\/p>\n

Gisteren was het Paarse Vrijdag. Naast vele online gastlessen, een actie met shirts, cornervlaggen, aanvoerdersbanden en een televisiestudio werd ook het onderzoek gepubliceerd over draagvlak en acceptatie voor transgenders binnen de sport! Het onderzoek, dat is uitgevoerd door het Mullier Instituut in opdracht van Alliantie Gelijkspelen 4.0, laat op veel onderdelen groei zien in het draagvlak en acceptatie van transgenders binnen de sportverenging. Onder meer genderneutrale toiletten en kleedkamers worden nu bijna door 50% van de sporters geaccepteerd, tegenover nog maar iets meer dan een kwart in 2017. Een belangrijke conclusie in het onderzoek is daarbij dat het betrekken van ervaringsdeskundigen en ambassadeurs bij de inrichting van een LHBTI+-vriendelijke sportvereniging van wezenlijk belang is. JBF wordt hiermee bevestigd dat het op de goede weg is en zal dit belangrijke werk daarom de komende jaren voortzetten! Bekijk hier de facstsheet van het Mulier instituut.
