Een groot deel van de huidige Nederlandse tophockeyers, zo\u2019n 40 procent, denkt dat het moeilijk is om in hun wereld uit de kast te komen.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Dat blijkt uit een onderzoek in opdracht van de Alliantie Gelijkspelen 4.0. Daarin staat verder dat de meeste mannen in het tophockey zeggen geen enkel probleem met homoseksualiteit hebben. Wel geven ze aan dat het maken van homograppen nog altijd vrij normaal is. Zo geeft bijvoorbeeld bijna de helft van de respondenten aan dat \u2018homo\u2019 of \u2018mietje\u2019 binnen de hockeysport als scheldwoord wordt gebruikt.<\/p>\n

Volgens de hockeyers is de sterke heteronormatieve cultuur in het mannentophockey \u00e9\u00e9n van de oorzaken waarom het nog zo ingewikkeld is. Ze geven aan dat opmerkingen op en rond de velden over homoseksualiteit meestal als grapje worden bedoeld en veelal niet \u2013 bewust of bedoeld – om homoseksuele mannen te kwetsen.<\/p>\n

De mannelijke tophockeyers geven gemiddeld een zesje voor de algemene acceptatie van homo- en biseksualiteit binnen het mannentophockey, 40 procent geeft een onvoldoende. Opvallend is dat de respondenten de acceptatie door henzelf het hoogst inschatten (7,7). Maar die acceptatie is nog wel begrensd, want 1 op de 10 tophockeyers geeft aan er nog wel enige moeite mee te hebben om met een homo- of biseksuele man te douchen. Ten aanzien van transmannen is de weerstand nog groter. Ook vindt 16% het aanstootgevend dat twee mannen met elkaar zoenen op de club.<\/p>\n

De uitkomsten van dit onderzoek geeft de Alliantie Gelijkspelen veel inzicht om de LHBTI-acceptatie in het mannen(top)hockey te verbeteren. Zo wil de alliantie samen met de KNHB middels een campagne en workshops stakeholders meer bewust maken van de heteronormatieve cultuur en de homonegativiteit in het mannentophockey. Verder maken de uitkomsten duidelijk dat het nodig is om in te zetten op de eigen verantwoordelijkheid van de belangrijke stakeholders in het tophockey. Ook bij de mannelijke topspelers, want er bestaat bij hen weinig draagvlak voor het veranderen van de bestaande macho-\/ heterocultuur op de eigen vereniging.<\/p>\n

De spelers zien met name een belangrijke verantwoordelijkheid voor hun trainers \/ coaches. Door bijscholingen en trainingen wil de Alliantie Gelijkspelen trainers in de sport meer handelingsbekwaam maken bij het omgaan met verschillen in de sport en hoe zij kunnen bijdragen aan een meer inclusieve sport. Om die reden zal de Alliantie Gelijkspelen o.b.v. het gesprek aangaan met trainers en andere betrokkenen in het tophockey. Te beginnen met een interview met beide bondscoaches dat volgende week zal worden gepubliceerd op www.sportknowhowxl.nl<\/a><\/strong> <\/span>en een podcast met twee ex-internationals die is te luisteren via deze\u00a0link<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/strong> Ook neemt de Alliantie Gelijkspelen de aanbeveling voor een vervolgonderzoek over en wordt volgend jaar een verdiepend kwalitatief onderzoek gedaan naar de ervaringen van LHBTI-ers in het tophockey. De resultaten komen voort uit een onderzoek dat werd uitgevoerd door het Mulier Instituut in opdracht van de Alliantie Gelijkspelen, die sinds 2008 in opdracht van de ministeries van OCW en VWS een beleidsprogramma uitvoert, gericht op de acceptatie van homoseksualiteit in de wereld van de (georganiseerde wedstrijd)sport. De Nederlandse hockeybond (KNHB) maakt deel uit van de Alliantie Gelijkspelen 4.0, naast de John Blankenstein Foundation (penvoerder), NOC*NSF, de voetbalbond (KNVB) en Stichting Roze Voetbal Fanclubs.<\/em><\/p>\n
